About this Selection:
San Giuseppe wines were called “great” by Wine Enthusiast Magazine for good reason…among them is San Giuseppe Merlot.  The quality and mastery of the grape is what makes it stand above the rest. San Giuseppe Merlot is soft, rich, full of fruit and uniquely Italian. At home with a steak, a bowl of pasta or even cheese, it’s a pleasant young red wine for any occasion.

The Grape:
Nowhere in Italy has the Merlot grape been more widely cultivated than in the Veneto region, the very place where San Giuseppe picks its grapes. Here the grape growing process is carefully monitored and the gentle fruit is encouraged to mature to the perfect level until the grapes are bursting with full flavor and vibrant color.

Winemaker Notes:
One hundred percent Merlot grapes are carefully fermented at controlled temperatures to bring out their very best flavor, acidity and color. After reaching ideal conditions, the juices are transferred to tanks for a short maturation period. 

Tasting Notes:
This Merlot is blended for complexity and balance. It is a ruby red wine, full-bodied with bright fruit and well-integrated tannins that produce a pleasant lingering finish. The bountiful aroma is reminiscent of  raspberry and cherry, accented by notes of toasted oak, vanilla and spicy dried herbs and black pepper.
