GOLD LABEL
PINOT BLANC
About this Selection:
Pinot Blanc is the lesser known member of the Pinot family, hence, a reason to get familiar with this wine. Also, the wine is interesting, very good and a nice match to dishes that Pinot Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio would not be.
A sure bet with all white wine dishes. More interesting taste and conversation. Great with chicken.
The vine is known in Alsace, France. There it makes earthy white wine that matches the food of the region. Surprisingly, the vine is also grown in Burgundy and Champagne. The wine is blended with Pinot Chardonnay to make better white burgundy and with Pinot Noir to make better champagne.
The Grape:
100% Pinot Blanc
Winemaker Notes:
San Giuseppe Pinot Blanc is unique, full bodied and earthy, but less so than from Alsace. Bright and flavorful, without the vanilla from oak found in many Chardonnay. This is a wine deserving of your attention.
Tasting Notes:
Medium weight yet sturdy. Crisp Apple and Pear. Very nice all around white wine.
